How is it so easy for people to hack into your accounts on MySpace if your password is not that easy to get? I don't understand.. I know that some people use the HTML to make a fake page, then somehow when you enter your info like your password, the hacker gets it.. I don't get that either. How can someone make a fake page and then when you enter your info, they get your password? Is there some sort of embedded link or something that sends the info back to the hacker? Can anyone help me figure out why and how these people are doing this?

Ok, one answer I got from this question was that whenever the person enters their password into the password spot then the info gets sent back to a data base. My question is, how are they getting their fake pages to pop up on my computer? Thats what I don't understand. I'm the only one that has access to my own pc, so how are they doing that???

they probably change their web address so it's similar to myspace but has a (slightly) different address, than they redirect you to their site. then after you give your login info they log you into myspace and you're none-the-wiser that they did. if you are using internet explorer, than go to spoofstick.com and download their free product called 'spoofstick ' than install it. it shows you in plain language what the address of the web site you're at is. hope this helps you!

My ex had gotten a new gf, and they broke up 7 months later. Well I had ran into him, and he apologized to me. She seen us. Ever since she's started crap loads of drama. Deleted my myspace twice. Like hacked into it and deleted it. I just left it...because its just a stupid page anyway.But its still the fact that she took the time to hack into my personal business. But shes started crap about me. And me being the type of person I am. I avoid drama. And I've never had a problem like this before. I'm doing my best to avoid it, but she just keeps going. It depends on the website, if it is a website like Yahoo! Accounts, then yes, it's normal even if you had just logged in. Also, if you go to a Yahoo page, and then it says "Please enter your password".. that only really happens if you had been away from Yahoo for at least 15 minutes, but you can set it to 24 hours if you want. Put in the wrong password and see what happens. if it's a phishing attempt, it may accept the password just to get more information from you. But you will then know it's a phony pop up.

your account is being phished if there are adds being put on the bulletin board under your name or your friends. This starts off as a fake facade that asks for your screen name after you click one of the bulletins. You can email myspace and tell them what happened and you should be able to make a claim picture, where you take a picture of yourself and piece of paper with your URL written to prove that it is your account and they should give you back access to the account.

you were indeed hacked, by spammers.

they're not remotely interested in reading your mail, it was probably software which posted the bulletins and not a real human - all they're interested in is getting their spam out to as many people as possible - namely all your myspace friends via bulletins.

change your password to something secure and change your security question too - weak passwords are a godsend.

your account was most like hacked. most hackers use programs which atomatically send out thousands of emails/ bulletins at a time. they never really look at yours individually. they are more interested in getting out as many advertisment as possible than reading your mail. which is why none of your other stuff was opened. just try changing your password.

My boyfriend's ex girlfriend has been trying to break us up for quite awhile now. She texts him non-stop, calls him non-stop. He's asked her not to, and is now ignoring her, and is getting his number changed here soon...

I know it's hard to do, but you have to just ignore her childish actions. Ex-gf's with mental problems are a total pain in the rear end, but if you love your man you have to put up with it...

He can file a restraining order against her. Depending on what she is saying to him in texts and messages, it probably falls under harassement laws, but it could fall under stalking laws too...

My SO has an ex-gf that had stalked him for 7 years before I met him. They have a son together so I have to put up with her too now. I admit it's tough, there are times when I get so stressed out that I can't eat or sleep. However, I love my SO and I refuse to let his psycho ex ruin my life.

SO and I set aside a few hours a week where we do not talk about the court cases and we don't bring her name up. We also set aside an hour or so a week to totally b*tch her out to each other... That is the best way we have found to cope with it over the past seven years.

Just keep reminding yourself that it's not your SO's fault she is a flake. Try some relaxation techniques, maybe some aroma therapy or meditation. Some people in the world are missing a few bolts, it's unfortunate but us normal people just have to deal with them.

This is done through something called "phishing."

Recently, myspace has required users (even those who keep their browsers open and stay signed in) to log in every 24 hours, for extra security. You have probably noticed that there is always a little warning that you need to make sure the address starts 'login.myspace.com.'

What phishers do is they post a bulletin with a link that looks like it will take you one place, but in fact takes you to a completely different website. That website they take you to is designed and coded to look EXACTLY like the myspace login page. In fact, they do it so well that it is impossible to tell the difference, EXCEPT by looking at the URL address. They use the exact same images, the exact same layout, even similar advertising. If you do not pay attention and simply enter your username and password, once you click 'submit' or 'login,' your username and password doesn't go to myspace. It all goes to the website that LOOKED like myspace, which is actually owned by the hacker. They can then log into your account, and post bulletins, advertising their product, and include links to phish even more people. (And I'm sure they have computer programs that login automatically and send bulletins, instead of it being a human person that does it.)

I've seen really tricky urls, too. One of them I saw was login.rnyspacecom.com, which if you look closely the m isnt an M at all, but rather a lowercase R and an N.

So as a rule, whenever you enter your password, make sure the address ends with myspace.com (can be www.myspace.com, can be login.myspace.com... as long as it ends with myspace.com, you know that you are in the correct location)

If you have fallen prey to a phisher, all you need to do is change your password, and from now on check the address to make sure you are still at myspace.com

If you download the firefox web browser, it includes a feature that will actually warn you if the site you are at is a suspected phishing site.

One thing I like to do to annoy the hackers is anytime I get to a login page that is actually a phisher's page, I enter the most random email/passwords, hit 'login,' then go back and do it about a dozen times. This will give them user names and passwords which don't work. If enough people start doing that, they will get way too annoyed and hopefully stop doing it.

This guy I was dated for 9 months broke up with me all the way back in Janurary. After we broke up him and his stupid friends hacked into my myspace %26amp; aol accounts and basically ruined my life. 2 things that might help. 1. Surround yourself with friends, at least one, whenever you can. 2. martial arts. This is one of the best confidence boosters I know of. I'm not saying you should learn how to beat him and his friends up, just get some more self confidence behind you belt. Okay, so my really good friend doesn't like his girlfriend at all. She's seriously psychotic. She'll call him a million times if she can't get a hold of him. I think you can check stay signed on and then if they say that someone has signed on go to your command promt. windows button + R and then type cmd. Then type netstat -n. Well, you could just request your password for msn and answer the security question. If he changed that, and all your details, like names and address, there's really not a lot you can do, since its a free service.

If you've got your emails back, you can request your myspace again. they'll have it on record everything that happened and was changed, they'll disable the account and get to grips with what happened.

Otherwise, only MSN has the ip address, and they wont give it to you.

You know those viruses where someones account gets hacked and then it sends everyone on their buddy list an advertisement for something? How come i never get those on my comment area? A few of my friends accounts got hacked into and sent out all of these advertisements to all of their friends except me....why wouldn't i get them and everyone else does?

Cause you probably set a prefrence up before they are able to send you a comment like making them do a captcha.

A captcha ruins spammers spamming. Cause in order for someone to send a comment with the prefence set as captcha they need to identify the numbers, letters in the image and then put it in the box before you get the comment on your myspace.

Hm if you would like to change it or anything of that sort go to account settings, then click the tab spam. You will then see Communications Settings and then see comments. There is where you can set prefrences before people can/ can not send you things. :] What I put above is more then likely why you are not getting them :]

That's what I use it for too an I was hacked BAD. I change my password every other day now just to be safe. My page friended (while I slept) 8 PAGES OF MEN MY AGE (I had to delete one by one -- I don't request friends unless I know them) AND whoever hacked it also put a code on my page that made a pop up come up anytime I clicked "profile" or when people opened my page (a windows pop-up and I have a MAC - not windows). A friend of mine commented me recently with a video -- I thought it was just going to be funny -- luckily it wouldn't allow me to open it --- it wasn't something she DID NOT send and it messed up some of her friends pages......it's not that myspace is overrated -- it's been a great tool for me --- we just need to somehow fight back these hackers!!

My friend Michelle isnt talking to me. I would go see her. tell her how sorry you are. She may not believe you, but it is worth the try. I just had a fight with one of my best friends, I mean he is like a brother to me. You might have to buy keyloggers but you should try to download a secret one so only you can access it. Those ones you usually have to buy but if she doesnt find out just get a free demo.

I have a problem logging into myspace. I am entering the correct info, my account has not been hacked (I am able to login with another comp), and I've tried logging in with different browsers. I enter in my info, i click the login button, and it just directs me to this page:

It's been a couple of days now, and still nothing has changed. Is it something specifically that's interfering with my logging into myspace? I've used spyware software, virus scan, etc.. and it still doesn't work. I've cleared out temp internet files and cookies.. still nothing. System restore.. still nothing.

It's not a problem with your computer it is a problem myspace is having. I could log in after the second try of it yesterday and my friend who lives down the street couldn't after many many tries. It should eventually work though, I think this is worth contacting Myspace over, 2 days is too long lol Good Luck!!

It could be the page being blocked by the owner of the computer. In IE, you can block pages by going to TOOLS%26gt;INTERNET OPTIONS%26gt;SECURITY and scroll over to double click on RESTRICTED SITES (a red circle with a white line through it). On this screen, press the SITES button to see if MySpace is listed. If it is, unblock it by clicking on it and choosing REMOVE.

once you get to this page, you ARE pressing "home" once again, right?

after logging into myspace, everybody sees that page. but then you are supposed to click "home" and you will be directed to your main profile page.

if clicking "home" does not work, try clicking "mail" or "search" or "music" or any of the other links that are listed across the top of the page in small letters.....Clicking on one of these should redirect you to another place in the site.

Ok so my sister has had a problem with her bf's ex-gf. she stalked %26amp; threatened my sister %26amp; had to go to court %26amp; all that. She had a restraining order against her for a while. well its off now

this girls old roomate told my sister she paid someone $200 to hack into my sisters myspace %26amp; that supposedly shes trying to pay people to hurt my sister. among some other scary sh*t... that along with calling repeatedly %26amp; going to my sisters job (retail store).

You can report this to the police. Sadly, they won't be able to do much without actual proof. They can call her and talk to her about it, which might scare her off. If you have a friendly police officer you can call on, get him to park across from her house a few nights, let her think they're watching her. She might think twice. It's unfortunate, but people like that really don't care if they get caught, and they can't possibly believe they're going to get the guy back by acting like that, so reasonable things don't work with them. Good luck, and tell your sister to arm herself, it doesn't have to be a gun, but something she could use for protection, like hairspray (you can spray in their face) if she's attacked.

well, if I was you and somone was doing those things to me or somone else I Know, I would go to your phone compony first, because if she was using the same phone to call you they will know regardless if she used the spoof card or not. Then, sue her, and renew or get your restraining order made permanent. If you so much as hear from her again, you can make her go to jail. Yes, you have to go through the hassle of the courts, but when it all comes down to it your saftey is well worth it.

Yeah there is a way that you can try. Just email the people at abuse@myspace.com with your friend ID and a request to be restored. I've seen it work with some people. So good luck. It is worth a try though.

Most the problems with myspace are from "phishing", people writing programs to figure your password. The best thing to do is change your password often, and make it tough to figure out. Combinations of letters, numbers, and symbols. For instance, you could take a word that only makes sense to you, and replace A with 4, E with 3, the letter O with a zero, etc.

That would make phishing next to impossible.

Don't click on any links that anyone sends you unless you turst them. And don't click on any link that promises free stuff...it's usually a phishing or hacking program. If you do accidentally click on one, just change your password and they won't be able to hack in anymore. Just be careful and smart about it and you should be fine. First be sure your firewall is on. Second, run an anti-spyware scan to make sure there aren't any keyloggers or any other kind of spyware on your PC. Third, use a strong password. A combo of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, symbols, and punctuation marks. Minimum of 8 characters. the longer the better. This way it'll unbreakable. It'll be very hard or even impossible for password cracking software to crack. Also change your password at least once a month. Fourth, watch what you click. These bulletins that lead you to a login page, no sirree.

Directly after meeting him, not intending more than anything but frindship with this guy, he looked me up on a google search. We met on another site but he found me on yahoo answers through my e-mail address. I tried to do the same search on myself and found nothing. My daughter was in a magor car crash and her baby died. He was upset at me because I would spend my time talking to him on yahoo messenger. I can't remember exactly what he said but it was so rude that it made my jaw drop. The gall of this guy! I barely knew him! My computer was hacked into about this same time my password and secret answer for my e-mail was changed. It also sees like he can "see" what I am doing on my computer everytime I would close his window while talking to him he would get more and more upset. I am not sure if it was definately him but it seems that way. I am just spooked. I blocked and deleted him from my yahoo and my myspace. Has anything like this ever happened to you?

It sounds to me like your password has just been compromised. This could be accomplished as easily as a few guesses, if your password wasn't very "secure". Contact the Web admin and tell him about it, get him to reset your password and send it to your email.

Ok I seriously need help. First of all, I'll start by saying it has to do with myspace. I have an account and have had it for atleast two years and I have NEVER ONCE forgotton my passwor(s). Well, just the other day when I logged in, it said my account has been phished and that I needed to changed my password immediately. Well, I did change it, only after trying atleast 5 different passwords and I did the stupid thing and logged out without thinking to write down my new password. Unfortuately, all style codes you use to hide comments can be easily circumvented if someone viewing the profile has Firefox, a very keen web browser w/ a whole lotta cutting-edge features. What everyone else said it pretty much right. Change your password and before you log in make sure it says: "http://www.myspace.com/" in that url box at the very top of the screen before you put your info in and press login. if it says something else and you put your info in the hackers will get your info.

Click the link at myspace "forgot password". It will send the password to the registered email that you have on your profile with them. Be patient, with myspace it does take 15-20 minutes to get the password sent out. In fact, a couple of times, I never got an email and had to go request it a second time. Make sure that your server/email doesn't put the myspace email notice in bulk/spam.

One day I tried to log on to my myspace, and it said that my password was incorrect, but I am 100% sure that it was right. so I did the password recovery thing about 100 times and they never sent it to me. #1 first you need to run your anti-virus protection and anit-spyware utilities.

Hello, my best friend that i have been friends for over 8 years before he went crazy.so we get an apartment and i live with him and his g/f for a good 6 months happy dory. well one night i tell him my ex g/f is going to come over and watch a movie. Hey girl... if you two are "on a break" then the intentions are to get back together eventually. If this is the case just give him a call to see how he's doing. Tell him how you feel. Tell him that you are willing to give the relationship another shot if he is. Tell him that you want to start over fresh.... and that the past is the past and there are no hard feelings.

Don't bring up anything about the break. Don't ask him if he's been seeing anyone or if he's been going out with anyone. He'll feel like you are accusing him of doing something wrong and that will only push him away.

If he is willing to give the relationship another shot... you both know what you need to change or work on to make the relationship work.

If he doesn't want to give it a try... well then its just time to move on. There are plenty of guys out there. You don't need to dwell on the ones who don't' want to be with you.

I can go into my documents and open like a song from the folder and then itunes will open, but when I double click on ANYTHING on my desktop or start menu it just acts like I haven't done anything. You probably downloaded a virus when you opened ''cmd'' because im sure its not the same cmd in Windows that opens up the command prompt. You should probably just format the drive and reinstall Windows.. If you need to save all your **** first, restart your computer, hit f8 every other second right when it comes back on until you get to advanced options menu. Pick safe mode and let windows boot. In safe mode you should at least be able to backup all your data first..

You need to access the Windows Restore function to revert your computer to an earlier save point, so that whatever you did in CMD (someone must be laughing right now) will be undone (more than likely).

Restore will change the settings back, but will not affect your media or personal files, just the windows settings.

Click on your desktop in a blank space one time.

Then hit the "F1" key on your keyboard.

This will open help and support, under "pick a task" on the lower right, choose "undo changes to...."

the best way out of this jam is system restore.

Turn that sucker back to a time before you started using cmd.

Go to start, then control panel

In control panel click on performance and maintenance.

Upper Left you will see system restore under see also.

Click on it.

Tell it restore my computer to an earlier time,

and pick a date and time before the event.

When you tell it OK, it will restart itself. This may take a few moments.

When the pc has restarted completely, you should get a window informing you whether or not the restore was successful.

I don"t know what you would do if you have Vista. If you have Window ME, or XP then go to the control panel and the Admin and chose the option to restore your computer.

Tell a date before you had a problem. It will reboot and when it goes on anything installed after that day will be removed. It usually works.

I got a guy "friend", he's cruel. Insult me almost everyday but not with others, he do insult everybody but at me, he would make stupid comments like "EW" or pretend to hit my head with dictionary. He would tease me everywhere, at bus, in class, lunch, whatever he get chance. I ignored him but he continues. I felt like hurting him so he'll shut up but not answer. Also I wanted to do revenge but my parents would take my phone away if I try to do revenge. He got a girlfriend but like other girls. He was a bully to me in 7th grade. I told counselor everything and she said "u should tell him to grow up and leave u alone" but I can't bring myself to say that to him. He's 15, 5"11, 192 lb, personality is sarastic, careless, potheadm not the best student and partier .

I get along with everybody, except him. Everybody like him but he seem not to like me, we grew up, we fight, and I get tired of it now. No you cant, but you can contact the admin or mod of mySpace and ask them to reset your password. Im sure they have a "secret question" option to retrieve it. There is not any way to trace them unless they committed some crime with your account. If that is the case, you could subpoena MySpace to provide the internet address of the computer that accessed your account. If not, you're stuck.

Guessing someone's password is not hacking, it is guessing someone's password. Or, if as you say, your password was not easy to figure out, they may have gotten it from somewhere else. If you use the password for lots of different things, or ever told anyone any information about it, they could get it.

Or, if your password is a word or phrase that means something to you, if they saw you typing it in they could probably figure out what it was by seeing some of the letters you were hitting and how long it was.

The only safe password is a random sequence of lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols. You should never share it with anyone.

Ok heres a strange issue i have. Our 13 yr olds friend ( should i say) that is 22 went to our sons yahoo account and guessed his password and got in and then he went to his my space and said he forgot his password so it was then emailed to him and then he proceded to go into his myspace account and change and edit his personal mail. Ok ladies and gentleman. I have a problem. My girlfriend and I have been together for about 3 months. And one day out of nowhere she starts talking non-stop about this other guy. All freaking day! When i got in, there were about 20 messages between them. He invited her to his house to drink with just him and spend the night. I've been involved in a similar situation. I didn't spy on her, but she did meet someone online behind my back and then confronted me trying to make it my problem. While I don't think you should have spied on her, I also don't think she should have fooled around behind your back.

I'd say cut your losses and move on. It's only been 3 months and the longer you wait, the more hurt you'll probably get. If this type of problem is occuring this early in the relationship, then it doesn't stand a good chance at succeeding. Then you should confront her about this guy and tell her that you don't appreciate her sending such flirtacious messages to another man. Hacking into her myspace was not the best idea, and shouldnt of been done. Now if she left it open and you accidently saw it, then its be some what ok. But i can understand your concern. One if she was planning on staying the night at another guys house, she should of atleast told you. It is pretty odd that she would even consider spending the night at his house when she is with you.My b/f would flip out if that ever happened, and most guys would. An also it is weird that she did not even tell you she was. So did I LMAO I did this to my man..The difference is that i did it to prove to his bit*hes and himself that everything i knew and confronted him with was true. He being a man or Pus*y lied yet i have all the evidence and more some. I had to learn my lesson when I was looking through my boyfriends phone and I saw some things that I didn't want to see. But he learned his lesson when he went through my text messages and read what guys were saying to me.
