i noticed all my new messages were being read and other things so i asked my dad if thety were checking it and after a while he admited that he was. after they read my messages they think im "meeting people online" which im not becuase im not some 80 year old weirdo. but i dont know how i can trust them anymore. i guess its not that big of a deal though there just trying to protect me but still im in ihigh s chool and im not retarded

Do they pay for the Internet,your food; the roof over you head if yes then they own everything even you until you are 18 and out of their house you are theirs to take care of and spying on you to make sure you are doing the right things is part of it. I hated it when my mom read my letters and diary and I got in real big trouble once when I had wrote that she was a Bi^%26amp;h that when I found out she was spying I am 25 and have kids now and I know I will do anything to make sure they don't get in trouble you will understand and even thank you parents one day.

just change your password and tell them that they don't trust you. Parents get mad when you tell them that they don't trust you. Tell them to let you live your life, and they can't control you.

How can you say you don't trust your parents when all they were doing was looking out for you. Did you ever stop to think it's not you they don't trust but the people talking to you. They more than likely wanted to be sure some nasty damn sex offender wasn't contacting you. Instead of jumping the gun why not ask them why they were checking it. Just let them know that it bothers you and makes you feel like they have not trust in you. It may not big such a big a deal as you think.

If you can't trust them not to look through your messages, then just delete your myspace and then there will be no messages for them to check. I understand that parents are worried about their children, but I don't think they understand that invading their children's privacy just destroys trust. If you don't trust your kids then they won't trust you. To this day, my mother gets irritated when she thinks about my grandmother reading the diary she kept as a teenager.

I suggest that you forgive your parents this time. Try to communicate with them as much as possible. I think a lot of parents these days have forgotten how to communicate with their kids, therefore their kids never learn to communicate with them. Try to be open with your parents and maybe they will see that there is no need to snoop.

I also wanted to add that I am not a teenager, but as a teenager, I never had to worry about my parents snooping. My parents didn't rely on that to find out what was going on in my life. They were actual good parents, who talked to me instead.

If you aren't doing anything they wouldn't like then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. But if you don't like it, change your password to something they would have no clue about, on everything you are a member on, include numbers, letters, symbols, etc. whatever you can make in the password use it, and you remember it. If its that big of a deal, even get a new e-mail that they don't know and don't have so that they can't get into your myspace. But if you aren't doing anything they don't like, then i would just let them go at it, because then maybe one day they will just stop doing it and understand that you aren't trying to be a pervert or anything.

What you should do is move out of their house, and get a job while you still know everything. When you grow up you will be just as prying as they are, or you will be a bad parent.

You must remember it is their house. You sleep in the room they provide for you. They pay the bills so it is their comp, net, etc....

You do realize they are legally responsible for your actions until you are an adult. If you use their house and Internet for illegal activity, they get in trouble. Just like if cops find your drugs in their house, they can loose their house over it.
