i cahange my passwords like every 3 weeks but my sis told me today something i sent out this moring had a virus but i wasn't on today so my question i guess is how did this happen and how can i prevent it from happening again?

You just got phished.
It happened to me before, its where someone is able to use your account to send out spam even though they dont know your password I suppose (because I assume they would steal the password if they knew it) I just changed my password and everything was alright.
I would suggest cleaning your history, and clearing your cache.
Avoid clicking on random advertisements when browsing myspace, I've been told that they can lead to phishing, and of course, if you have Internet Explorer 7 you can turn on the phishing filter. Im not sure what the equivalent of these actions are if using Firefox though.

It happens a fair bit. Change passwords regularly, only way you can prevent it is by leaving myspace... its part of the social Virus problem

It could be either
a) someone in your house has installed a keylogger, which is basically a program someone who lives inside your household has installed, to read everything you type. passwords, etc. to get ride of this go to www.ad-aware.com or search ad-aware in google
b) someone knows the password to the email you are using from your myspace. change your email password too
c)you entered a code onto your myspace that you shouldnt have. Try deleting all the content on your myspace other than pictures and friends and start over.
