my profile got hacked into and I've heard of something called a salute can someone tell me please exactly what that is?

If you don't have the account password or access to the email address associated with the account, there IS another way to prove that you are the rightful owner of the account. A salute is a photo of yourself holding a handwritten sign with the word "MySpace.com" and your FriendID on it. You can find your Friend ID number after "friendID=" in the web address when viewing your profile.
